  1. Kaleb is attends the Early Childhood Education/Special Education (ECE/Sped) Preschool in Twin Falls, Idaho. At first, I was frustrated because the preschool is basically two double wide trailors melded together and then split into classrooms but Kaleb seems to have been able to adjust okay and has several "friends" there. I was really impressed because about 8 of the 14 kids in his class came to his birthday party in February.

Kaleb also attends Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy at the Idaho Elks Pediatric Clinic in Twin Falls.

Kaleb takes medication for heart problems and allergies.

Our Service Coordinator was through Independent Growth but we had problems with them switching our coordinator around. We moved here in August and 4 months later we STILL did NOT have any services. So we switched to New Horizons. I was SOOOO impressed because I called them the DAY OF Kaleb's IEP renewal and only gave them 5 hours to get all of his medical documents and medicaid information faxed over. But they DID IT and they were AT HIS IEP! We're just getting started with them and we've been travelling quite a bit but they are patient with us and so helpful.

  2. Zeke attends the Developmental Preschool in Firth, Idaho. I'm still working on getting him an aid and getting the school to follow the IBI plan. One plus about being in a small school is that he is one of like 2 special needs kids so he has more oppertunities to get the help he needs.

Zeke attends Speech at Bingham Memorial Hospital with an awesome speech therapist by the name of Derek. He is so great and always has great ideas.

Zeke gets Occupational Therapy from Premier Therapy in Idaho Falls and is working with another awesome therapist Mandy. Mandy has been trained in myofacial release and works with Craniofacial releases on him. There have been many that have said that autistic kids bones in their head overlap and Zeke's do. So his soft spot is still there even though he's five. So this has helped a ton.

Our Service Coordinator is Sarah Russell with Kid Connections and she is excellent. She knows what she's talking about and is really good at letting me know what I need to be doing.

Zeke also gets IBI therapy through the Learning Center in Idaho Falls. I am truely blessed to have him working with 2 really good therapists. Xanthe and Kiersi are always coming up with really great ideas and can get him do do things I didn't even know he could do! So he askes with signs and words for things that he wants and needs.

Zeke has complex partial seizures so he takes Lamictal for that and takes Clonidine for behaviors. He sees Dr. Carol Vance for his neurological and seizure issues.

I'm grateful that I live in a great area. I have wonderful people that I work with.
